1. What is aquablasting and how does it work?
Aquablasting, also known as wet blasting, is a modern surface treatment method that combines abrasive media with water. The process is gentle on materials because water acts as a lubricant, reducing friction and minimizing the risk of surface damage. The result is a fine, satin finish that is ready for further treatments such as painting or anodizing.
2. What materials can be treated with wet blasting?
Aquablasting is ideal for non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, brass, bronze, and other light alloys. The method is also suitable for composite materials and metal parts that require precise and gentle cleaning without material loss.
3. Is this method suitable for restoring antique metal parts?
Yes, aquablasting is ideal for gentle restoration of antique metal parts because it does not damage the surface, cause material loss, or change the geometry of parts. The surface achieves a uniform, satin appearance that restores the part to its original beauty.
4. What contaminants can be removed using wet blasting?
Aquablasting can effectively remove a wide range of contaminants, including carbon deposits, oxides, machining marks, burrs, scale, and other deposits. This leaves the surface perfectly prepared for further treatments.
5. Is this method environmentally friendly?
Yes, wet blasting is an eco-friendly process. It uses water and abrasive media that contain no harmful chemicals. The process is dust-free and environmentally friendly.
6. How large can the parts be for blasting?
The maximum size of parts that can be treated using our Vixen - AQUABLAST 1215 equipment is 1 m³. For larger parts, please contact us and we will try to find a suitable solution.
7. Which industrial sectors most commonly use aquablasting?
